University-wide Navigation

You can feel it. Life is moving towards something resembling normal. Students are on campus, many faculty and staff are back in their offices, and of course there are heroes who have been there all along. The kiddos in K-12 will be, for the most part, back to school online, and the schedule will be demanding for both kids and parents. During this time of transition (or any transition), personal nutrition can take a back burner. So we want to share some reminders abut how to keep fueling yourself when life gets cray-cray!

Plan ahead: We know you know this, but it bears repeating. Even if it is minimal, having some kind of blueprint of what you will eat and what you need to shop for will pay dividends.

Embrace healthier convenience foods: There is no shame in this game. Bagged salads, precooked chicken, jarred marinara, pre-cut fruits and vegetables, etc. These foods can make the difference between eating at home or ordering take-out.

Stock your snack arsenal: Keep a variety of options around not only for balanced nutrition, but to help stave off boredom. And make sure a good chunk of that stuff is non-perishable so that you always have something available!

Get serious about leftovers: Making more of something doesn't usually require more time or effort. Double or triple a recipe so that there are leftovers, or a meal to freeze for later.

Get to the grocery store: That is where all the magic begins! Whether you go into the store or use a grocery pick-up or delivery service, there have never been more options to get groceries in your home. Shop for groceries before you are down to ketchup and stale bread ;)

This is surely review for many of you, but we hope the reminders help you stay balanced and well-nourished during these times of transition!
