Help with Food Fatigue Part Deux
It looks like the USDA has been reading our blog! Well, not really (I mean, probably not...right?).
But the timing of this new offering from Nutrition.gov is, shall we say, fortuitous. They've got a new recipe page that's designed to give you some fresh new recipe ideas, all based on recipes from Cooperative Extension sites (maybe we'll see some UK recipes on there!).
There's a ton of different ways to engage with the new site. You can search by meal, like "Dinner". You can search by recipe type, like "Kid-Friendly". You can also search by food group or by season. New and popular recipes featuring trending ingredients or methods will be highlighted each month as well. This month they are featuring Overnight Oatmeal, Peanut Butter Balls, and Sunshine Rollups (a crunchy chicken-mandarin wrap with Asian-inspired flavors). You can also sign up for a newsletter to be delivered right to your inbox.
For the most part, the recipes seem to focus on familiar foods with a slight twist or skill built in. But you will probably find some new-to-you items on here, like Pupusas or an African-inspired stew.
Let us know what looks good to you! We'd love to see pictures of your kitchen creations.
