Hello all, Vanessa here this week. Karen will be talking with you this week about hydration, and boy she picked a really good week to do it, didn't she! It is, as a friend said to me this morning, swampy out there. I hope you all are doing your best to stay hydrated by drinking as much water as you can, especially if you are spending any time outside.

Of course, while drinking water is important, you can consume a significant amount of water by including a variety of water-rich fruits, vegetables and other products in your diet. This is why most people don’t necessarily have to drink those 8- 8 ounce glasses of water each day. As long as you’re eating plenty of water-rich foods and drinking water when you feel thirsty, staying hydrated can be pretty easy. Here is a list of foods that contain a high concentration of water, in no particular order:

  1. watermelon

  2. strawberries

  3. cauliflower

  4. cantaloupe

  5. peaches

  6. cabbage

  7. lettuce

  8. dairy products

  9. coconut water

  10. citrus

  11. cucumber

  12. broths and soups

  13. zucchini and yellow squash

  14. celery

  15. tomatoes

  16. peppers

There is a plethora of yumminess in that list! If fresh vegetables and fruits are difficult for you to keep in the house, frozen will be just as hydrating. Plus you'll get that nice arctic blast as you open the freezer door. :)

Everyone stay safe out there!
