spinach + watermelon salad

zucchini + potato tian

butternut squash and basil

spaghetti squash + tomatoes

Sitting here on this Labor Day, admiring my flip-flop tan lines and trying not to think of chigger bites (must.not.scratch), I find myself looking forward to those recipes that combine the best of what late summer and early fall have to give.

The effortless rainbow of summer veggies like tomatoes, peppers, and corn are starting to have competition for my attention with the appearance of back-to-school veggies like winter squash, fall greens, sweet potatoes. I welcome it. I'm ready. I know I can ease into this third section of the weirdest year ever by choosing meals that can not just remind me of the best of summer of the beginnings of fall but transcend both seasons. Let me know if you try one of the ideas above - or create your own inter-seasonal deliciousness!
